Vapour Corrosion Inhibitor
Adding a vapour corrosion inhibitor to plastic film protects metal surfaces of ferrous and non-ferrous metals from rust.
When iron and oxygen interact the result is corrosion in the form of rust. This can be a real problem when storing metal items. Left unprotected, items damaged by rust can be unfit for purpose. Leading to additional costs – wasting time and money.
Benefits:
- VCI films offer a versatile and cost-effective packaging solution
- VCI films are strong, yet flexible and provide excellent corrosion protection as well as making the product tamper proof
- VCI films are transparent, making identification easy
- VCI films are relatively inexpensive and ideal as a low-cost packaging solution
VCI’s incorporated in flexible and rigid packaging
Protect metal surfaces for long periods of time (5-7 years) at any stage of manufacturing, storage or transport
Do not present any toxicity problems and are a powerful asset in applications sensitive to odour and toxicity
Reduces the tendency of rust of oxidised particular to dislodge from corroded surfaces
Works very well even in water vapour atmosphere
Extremely effective for all iron and non-iron based commercial finished or intermediary products
